Day 16 Find a problem that might affect someone who can’t use their hands.
Physical or “motor” disabilities are weakness and limitations of muscular control. These include: involuntary movements including tremors, lack of coordination, paralysis, limitations of sensation, joint disorders such as arthritis, pain that impedes movement, and missing limbs.So, their access to the apps and, also, navigating on apps are not some tasks that can be accomplished easily.
Assistive Technologies Used by People who can not use their hand.
1)Head wands and mouth sticks are devices that fit over the head or into the mouth and extend toward a control interface. Once in place, the user can manipulate the wand or stick with their neck and jaw muscles to control an adaptive computer mouse, keyboard, or other assistive technology.
2) Eye-tracking
The device allows the person to navigate through the web with only eye movements. Proprietary software allows the person to type, and may include word-completion technology to speed up the process.
3) Speech recognition software
speech recognition software that translates the user's spoken words into language that the computer can understand. Speech recognition can be used to type text, enter data into forms, and navigate web pages using keyboard-style interactions or using a mouse emulation mode. One of the popular brands of speech recognition software is Dragon.
