The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international community where Member organizations, a full-time staff, and the public work together to develop Web standards. W3C's mission is to lead the Web to its full potential.
On their website (www.w3.org) you can find The Before and After Demonstration page which is a multi-page resource that shows an inaccessible website and a retrofitted version of this same website. Each web page includes inline annotations that can be activated to highlight some of the key accessibility barriers or repairs. Each web page is also accompanied by an evaluation report to inform the developers on the level of conformance to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
Here are two pictures of the home page they use for their example (there are several pages with before/after examples). I used WAVE tool to scan both before & after pictures for better understanding.
As you can see in first picture we can see lots of error such as alternative text are missing for images & links, incorrect or incomprehensible alternative text (which could be accessibility issue for blind user who use screen reader) & colour contrast ( issue for colour blind user)
Second picture is a retrofitted version which have better accessibility.
